Hiawassee, GA — The Towns County Indians delivered a commanding performance on Friday night, Sept. 5, shutting out the Greenville Hurricanes 28-0 in a dominant performance. The victory marked the Indians' largest margin of victory since their 47-6 rout of the Hurricanes on Sept. 6, 2024.
The Indians' defense was the cornerstone of their success, holding Greenville scoreless and continuing a strong defensive trend. Towns County has allowed just 18 points across their two wins this season. The shutout victory improved the Indians' record to 2-1, securing their second consecutive win.
Greenville struggled to find their rhythm against Towns County’s stout defense, falling to a 2-2 record with the loss.
Both teams will look to rebound with the support of their home crowds in their next games. Towns County will host Ware Shoals at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 12 while Greenville will face Calhoun Falls Charter at the same time.
