Lady Eagles Fall to Wildcats in Andrews

ANDREWS, N.C. — The Andrews High School varsity volleyball team secured a decisive 3-0 victory over Hiwassee Dam High School in a non-conference match on Monday, Sept. 8, at Andrews High School.
The Wildcats dominated the match, winning each set with scores of 25-21, 25-21, and 25-16. This win improves Andrews' season record to 7-2 overall and 3-2 in conference play, with a .778 winning percentage. The team holds a No. 269 ranking in North Carolina and No. 10 in their class.
Hiwassee Dam struggled in the matchup, falling to 0-10 overall and 0-2 in conference play. The Eagles, ranked No. 528 in the state and No. 40 in their class, have yet to secure a win this season.
The victory strengthens Andrews' strong home performance, bringing their home record to 3-1, while Hiwassee Dam continues to face challenges on the road with a 0-9 away record.
Andrews will head to Swain County on Tuesday, Sept. 9 while the Lady Eagles host Murphy.
