Lady Panthers Drop Heartbreaker to Coahulla Creek in 2-1 Thriller

ree

BLAIRSVILLE, Ga. — The Union County Lady Panthers fell short in a gritty three-set battle against Coahulla Creek, losing 25-12, 24-26, 13-15 on Tuesday night and extending their skid to two straight defeats.

The loss mirrored a tough matchup back in October 2024, when the Panthers also dropped a decision to the Colts. Despite outscoring Coahulla Creek 62-53 across the sets, Union County couldn't close out the win, settling for second place in a match that came down to the wire.

Samantha Combs shone brightly for the Lady Panthers amid the setback, racking up 10 digs and four aces to keep her team in contention. But it wasn't enough to overcome Coahulla Creek's balanced attack.

The Colts leaned on Natalie Snow's defensive prowess, with 11 digs and two aces, while setter Reece Elliott dished out 14 assists to orchestrate the victory.

With the defeat, Union County's record slipped to 22-13. Coahulla Creek, meanwhile, improved to 19-18 and snapped a mini-slump of its own.

The Lady Panthers look to rebound Thursday, Oct. 2 when they host Stephens County at 5 p.m.
