Lady Yellow Jackets Open Dills Era with Road Win

ree

The Hayesville Lady Yellow Jackets made a resounding statement in their season opener Tuesday night, cruising to a 61-29 victory over Blue Ridge Early College in the first official game under new head coach Tammy Dills.

Playing on the road in a non-league matchup, Hayesville wasted no time asserting control against the young Bobcats program. The Yellow Jackets’ pressure defense and balanced scoring overwhelmed Blue Ridge Early College from the opening tip, turning the contest into a one-sided affair and sending the visitors home with a convincing 32-point win.

The victory launches Hayesville to 1-0 on the young season and gives Coach Dills a successful debut after taking the reins of the program.

Hayesville travels to Highlands on Friday, Dec. 5 for a showdown against the Highlanders (1-1). Highlands is coming off a 33-24 win over Towns County (GA) and will look to even the season series after last year’s meetings were split.

For Hayesville, Tuesday’s performance was exactly the kind of start Coach Dills and her squad wanted: decisive, energetic, and a clear signal that the Lady Yellow Jackets are ready to compete at a high level in 2025-26.
