Madison Shuts Out Andrews in 26-0 Victory

MARSHALL, N.C. — The Madison High School Patriots dominated the Andrews Wildcats in a non-conference football game, securing a 26-0 victory on Friday, August 22, 2025, at Madison High School.

The game saw a scoreless first half as both teams struggled to convert opportunities. Multiple turnovers on downs defined the early exchanges, with neither Andrews nor Madison able to gain momentum. By halftime, the score remained locked at 0-0, with hundreds of fans in attendance witnessing a tightly contested defensive battle.

The Patriots broke through in the third quarter, capitalizing on their ground game. Madison scored their first touchdown on a rushing play, though they missed the point-after attempt, making it 6-0. Andrews’ offense faltered shortly after, fumbling the ball, which Madison recovered at 9:13 p.m. The Patriots quickly converted the turnover into another rushing touchdown, followed by a successful point-after attempt, extending their lead to 13-0 by the end of the third quarter.

In the fourth quarter, Madison continued their dominance. Despite an interception by Andrews, the Wildcats failed to capitalize, turning the ball over on downs. Madison responded with another rushing touchdown, though they missed the extra point, bringing the score to 19-0. Late in the game, with Andrews trailing, Madison sealed the shutout with a fumble recovery returned for a touchdown, followed by a successful point-after, finalizing the score at 26-0.

Madison’s defense was relentless, forcing multiple turnovers, including two fumble recoveries and an interception, while Andrews struggled to sustain drives, turning the ball over on downs five times. The Patriots’ rushing attack proved decisive, accounting for three of their four touchdowns.

With this win, Madison improves to 1-0 in non-conference play, while Andrews falls to 0-1. The Wildcats travel to Smoky Mountain on Friday, Aug. 29.
