PIKE COUNTY, Ga. — A 30-year-old man from Young Harris, Georgia, was arrested and charged with two counts of stalking after targeting two Pike County residents with harassing phone calls and explicit text messages, the Pike County Sheriff’s Office announced.
Matthew Corr, an IT employee at Young Harris College, was identified as the suspect following an investigation that involved multiple subpoenas served on texting app companies. Authorities said Corr used various apps to disguise the origin of his communications, which occurred over an extended period.
The victims, whose identities were not disclosed, reported receiving messages that indicated Corr had knowledge of their daily routines, including comments about “seeing them soon.” Concerned for their safety, they filed a report with law enforcement.
During an interview with investigators, Corr confessed to obtaining personal information about individuals, including the Pike County victims, through computers at his workplace. He also admitted to sending harassing messages to several other individuals in the Young Harris area.
Corr was transported to Pike County, where he faces two counts of stalking. Additional stalking charges are pending in Young Harris. He is currently being held in the Pike County Jail on an $11,000 bond.
