Mountain Lions Finish Fourth at Golden Mane Classic

COMMERCE, Ga. | The Young Harris College women's golf team placed fourth overall at the Golden Mane Classic on Tuesday (Sept. 9) afternoon. Senior's Tamara Brito and Lucy Wiegert led the way for the Mountain Lions; each finishing tied for ninth place in a competitive field. The event was hosted at the Double Oaks Golf Club, with the course playing at a par 71 across three rounds.
Emmanuel claimed the team title, placing two golfers inside the top seven and finishing with a combined score of +57.
INSIDE THE SCORECARD:
Through three rounds, Young Harris shot 96 over par (+38, +33, +25).
Tamara Brito carded rounds of +11, +2, and +4 to finish at +17, tied for ninth place.
Lucy Wiegert matched Brito's total with rounds of +4, +11, and +2, also finishing at +17 and tied for ninth.
Avery Cauwels finished in 23rd place with a total score of +29 (+13, +8, +8).
Anna Moore placed 33rd, shooting +39 overall (+10, +12, +17).
Abbie Arthur rounded out the Mountain Lions' lineup in 35th place with a score of +40 (+17, +12, +11).
UP NEXT:
The Mountain Lions return to action on Monday, September 22nd at the Golf Club of Bristol for the King University Invitational, with play concluding on Tuesday, September 23rd.
