Crews from multiple fire departments responded Monday, Jan. 12, to a structure fire on Joe Brown Highway that was fully involved when firefighters arrived.
According to officials, units from the Grape Creek, Unaka, Murphy, Hanging Dog and Peachtree fire departments were dispatched to the scene. The first arriving engine reported the structure was fully engulfed, with the fire being fed by a large propane cylinder located at the rear of the house.
Although the structure was a total loss, firefighters worked together to bring the blaze under control and prevent it from spreading to nearby properties. The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage were not immediately released.
