Murphy Clinches Smoky Mountain Conference Soccer Title with Win

CASHIERS, N.C. — The Murphy Bulldogs secured the Smoky Mountain Conference championship Tuesday afternoon with a 2-1 road win over Blue Ridge Early College.

Murphy improved to 13-3-1 overall and 12-1 in conference play, capping an impressive regular season that saw the Bulldogs outscore opponents 60-9. The victory not only locked up the conference crown but also extended Murphy’s dominance on the road, where the team now holds a 6-1 record.

Blue Ridge Early College (7-7-1, 6-7) kept the match close, but the Bulldogs’ steady defense and timely offense proved too much for the Bobcats to overcome.

With the win, Murphy turns its focus to a regular-season finale home match-up against Hayesville on Wednesday, Oct. 29 at 4 p.m.
