Murphy Power Board Begins Meter Replacement Work

ree

The Murphy Power Board began replacing power meters on Monday, Dec.1, and residents may notice additional utility workers moving through local neighborhoods as the project gets underway.

According to information shared from the town, crews will be operating from two white trucks — a Dodge Ram and a Ford F-150 — clearly marked as Murphy Power Board contractors. The vehicles will not have local tags, and workers will be wearing high-visibility safety vests while performing meter change-outs.

The notice was published to ensure residents are aware that the workers are authorized to be in the area and that the activity is part of an ongoing utility upgrade. Local officials said the reminder helps reduce confusion and ensures community members know the vehicles and personnel are legitimate.

Murphy Police Chief Tim Lominac provided the update to help keep residents informed as work progresses. The Power Board did not announce how long the meter replacement effort is expected to continue.
