BLAIRSVILLE, Ga. — Vogel State Park in Union County celebrated the grand opening of its new Visitor Center on Aug. 1, 2025, welcoming guests to a facility designed to reflect the park’s natural beauty and charm, park officials announced.
The state-of-the-art center, which serves as both a visitor hub and administrative office, opened to the public following a collaborative effort to relocate from the park’s previous facilities. Park officials expressed gratitude to staff from other parks, headquarters, and regional offices who assisted with the move, ensuring a smooth and efficient transition.
“We’re thrilled to welcome visitors to this new space that truly captures the spirit of Vogel State Park,” a park spokesperson said. “We ask for patience as we complete final touches to the building.”
The Vogel Volunteers, a dedicated group of park supporters, played a key role in the move by providing lunch, snacks, and water to keep the team energized throughout the process.
The new Visitor Center is now open daily, inviting guests to explore its offerings and enjoy the scenic views of the surrounding park. Vogel State Park, located in the heart of North Georgia’s Blue Ridge Mountains, is one of Georgia’s oldest and most beloved state parks, known for its 22-acre lake, hiking trails, and historic cabins.
