ree

ANDREWS, N.C. — The Andrews Wildcats’ three-game winning streak came to a halt Thursday, falling 3-2 to the Robbinsville Black Knights in a tightly contested volleyball match. The final set scores were 15-25, 25-17, 25-9, 21-25, and 15-9, with Robbinsville clinching the decisive fifth set by six points.

The loss echoed Andrews’ earlier 3-0 defeat to Robbinsville in October 2024, but the Wildcats showed resilience, pushing the Black Knights to a fifth set. Despite their efforts, Andrews couldn’t overcome Robbinsville’s momentum, dropping their record to 4-2.

Robbinsville, riding a four-game winning streak, improved to 6-1 with the victory. The Black Knights’ balanced attack and strong defense proved pivotal in securing the win.

Looking ahead, Andrews will face Blue Ridge Early College at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 2 while Robbinsville hosts Hiwassee Dam at 6:00 p.m. the same day.
