Sharp Memorial UMC to Host Electronic Recycling Event

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. — The Creation Care Committee of Sharp Memorial United Methodist Church (UMC) is inviting the community to its upcoming Electronic Recycling Event, scheduled for Saturday, August 16, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will take place in the Sharp Memorial UMC parking lot, located at 1114 Main Street, Young Harris, GA 30582.
The event will offer free recycling for a wide range of electronic items, including desktops, laptops, servers, mainframes, network hubs, network switches, CD-ROMs, floppy drives, circuit boards, hard drives, gaming consoles, gaming controllers, cell phones, keyboards/mice, LCD monitors, power supplies, UPS/UPS batteries, Ni-MH/Ni-CAD batteries, lithium batteries, cable/wire bridges, Blu-ray players, toner/inkjet cartridges, printers/copiers, fax machines, stereos, scanners, typewriters, modems, VCRs, radios, DVD players, CD players, and docking stations.
Additional fees will apply for certain items: tube-style TVs will be accepted for a $20 fee, while old CRT monitors will cost $10 to recycle. Flat-screen TVs will be accepted free of charge.
