Sheriff Recognizes Local Businesses for Fraud Awareness Efforts

BLAIRSVILLE, GA – On August 26, 2025, Union County Sheriff Shawn Dyer honored two local businesses, Tech Wizards of Blairsville and Tri-State Tech Support, for their significant contributions to the Sheriff’s Office Scam and Fraud Awareness Classes. The recognition ceremony highlighted the businesses’ two-year partnership with the Sheriff’s Office, during which they have shared their expertise in computers and social media to educate the community, particularly elderly residents, on protecting themselves from scams and fraud.
Sheriff Dyer, alongside Sgt. Calamari, presented both businesses with letters of recognition, commending their commitment to community safety and empowerment. “Their dedication has made a lasting impact,” Sheriff Dyer stated, expressing gratitude for their ongoing support in raising awareness about fraud prevention.
The Scam and Fraud Awareness Classes, supported by Tech Wizards and Tri-State Tech Support, have become a vital resource for Union County residents, equipping them with the knowledge to navigate the digital world safely. The Sheriff’s Office looks forward to continuing this partnership to further strengthen community resilience against scams.
