Stillwell Celebrates Birthday with Another Win

BRASSTOWN, N.C. — Tucker Anderson and Michael Barnett were among the winners at Tri-County Racetrack's most recent event held on Friday, June 26 in Brasstown.


Anderson drove the No. 17 to victory in the 25-lap Limited Late Models feature. Jacob Hamby of Murphy, North Carolina, finished second, followed by Ricky Smith of Hiawassee, Georgia, Greg Sudderth of Brasstown and Jake Parker of Hiawassee.


Barnett piloted the No. 37 to the win in the 20-lap Interstate Welding 602 Crate Late Models. Dylan Beaver of Murphy placed second, with Avery Breedlove of Hayesville third, Caden Hall of Hayesville fourth and Shannon Helton of Murphy fifth. Brandon Cook of Hayesville did not finish.


Other division winners included:

  • Street Stocks : Roger Beaverheld off Johnny Hannah and Tyler Hannah for his second consecutive victory.

  • Open Wheel Modifieds: Brawley Stillwell celebrated his birthday with his second win in a row. Scott Dockery and Griffin Wilson finished second and third respectively.

  • Hobby Sportsman: Jason Berrong beat Tim Wright and Tristan Conley to the flag to get the victory.

  • Modified Front Wheel Drive: Tank Ingram won ahead of Raymond Ledbetter and Phillip Hall, Shannon Jones did not start after issues during qualifying.

  • Crown Vic: Chase Robinson led flag-to-flag and defeated Maddox Hughes.

  • Stock FWD: Mitchell Ledbetterled Logan Ledbetter and Tristen Lovingood


The eight-division card drew entries from communities across western North Carolina and north Georgia, including Murphy, Andrews, Hayesville, Franklin, Blairsville and Hiawassee.


The next event at Tri-County Racetrack is the Independence Day in the Dirt program scheduled for Thursday, July 2 with racing starting at 7:30 p.m. The 1/4-mile semi-banked clay oval is located at 10456 Old Highway 64 in Brasstown.
