Press Release

Blairsville, GA - On September 9th, Sheriff's deputies took a report of a stolen 2024 Suzuki GSX800 that was valued at approximately $8,600. The Criminal Investigations Division, with assistance from Narcotic Investigators, immediately took action to try to recover the stolen property and bring those responsible for the theft to justice.

A canvassing of the neighborhood was conducted, and several people were interviewed. A concerned citizen stepped forward with valuable information as to the possible whereabouts of the stolen motorcycle.

On September 16th, investigators located the stolen motorcycle. The motorcycle had been altered and painted, but investigators were able to confirm that it was, in fact, the stolen motorcycle. Investigators arrested Allen Martin (pictured) and charged him with a felony count of Theft by Taking.

Sheriff Dyer would like to thank the citizen who came forward in this case to do what was right and ensure that the stolen property was returned to its rightful owner. The Sheriff's Office is very appreciative of the fact that we live in such a great community and have such a great relationship with our citizens, who trust the Sheriff's Office enough to come to us with information. We are the envy of many law enforcement agencies in that we have worked hard to build a relationship of trust with our citizens. The eyes and ears of a community are one of the most valuable assets to a law enforcement agency, and we are extremely grateful for our community's assistance.

The Sheriff's Office will continue its efforts to keep Union County a place where thieves will think differently before committing crimes here. We will find you, and we will put you in jail.

All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
