Students Safe After Union County School Bus Involved in Crash

School officials say all students are safe after a Union County Schools bus was involved in a crash Monday morning on Murphy Highway.

In a statement posted to social media, the school system said the bus was involved in an accident during the morning commute. Emergency medical services responded to the scene and evaluated the students as a precaution.

According to the district, all students were checked by EMS at the scene and were later evaluated again by school nurses and counselors once they returned to campus. Officials said no injuries were reported.

Students who were on the bus were given breakfast after arriving at school, and principals contacted parents to inform them of the incident.

School officials also thanked staff and first responders for their quick response.

“We appreciate the quick response of our staff and first responders who helped ensure our students were safe and cared for,” the district said in the statement.

Additional details about the crash, including what caused it, were not immediately available.
