HIAWASSEE, Ga. — The Towns County Indians secured a hard-fought 23-16 victory over Butler High School on Friday, Sept. 19, avenging a loss to the Bulldogs from September 2024. The Indians’ win improved their record to 3-2, while Butler’s defeat extended their losing streak to six games, dropping their season record to 0-5.
The game showcased Towns County’s resilience as they held off Butler’s late efforts to close the gap. The Indians’ balanced attack and stout defense proved too much for the struggling Bulldogs, who have yet to find their rhythm this season.
Both teams face road challenges in their next matchups. Towns County will travel to face Dixie at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 26, aiming to build on their winning momentum. Meanwhile, Butler will take on Laney at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, a daunting task given the Wildcats’ recent offensive surge, scoring at least 31 points in each of their last four games.
