Trafficking in Methamphetamine Charge Results from Narcotics Investigation

On July 4, 2026, Deputies Wilson and Blomgren with the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office responded to a residence on Carvers View Trail after a homeowner reported discovering suspected illegal narcotics in a guest bedroom occupied by an individual who was visiting from Florida.

With the homeowner's consent, deputies searched the room and located suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, suspected controlled substances and drug paraphernalia. The items were seized and processed as evidence.

During the investigation, one bag containing a crystal-like substance field-tested positive for methamphetamine and weighed approximately 99.4 grams. Based on the quantity and evidence collected, investigators obtained a warrant charging Cayden Ramos with Trafficking in Methamphetamine. An additional 50 grams of suspected controlled substances were submitted to the North Carolina State Crime Laboratory for further analysis.

Shortly after the warrant was obtained, deputies responded back to the residence after receiving a report that Ramos had returned and was acting aggressively. Deputies safely took Ramos into custody without incident and transported him to the Cherokee County Detention Center.

Ramos was served with the outstanding warrant, appeared before a magistrate, and was issued a $250,000 secured bond. His cellular phone was seized as evidence, and the investigation remains ongoing. Additional charges may be filed pending the results of laboratory testing.

All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
