Two Children Killed in Union County Mobile Home Fire

Two young children died in a tragic structure fire Monday at Warren Trailer Park in Union County, according to Union County Fire and Rescue.

Firefighters — both career and volunteer — from all Union County Fire Department stations were dispatched to the scene after reports that children were still inside the home. When crews arrived, they found a single-wide mobile home fully engulfed in flames, with the roof already collapsed.

Firefighters launched an aggressive attack to bring the blaze under control, but despite their efforts, two children believed to be approximately three and six years old were pronounced dead at the scene.

Union County Fire and Rescue, the Union County Sheriff’s Office, and the Georgia State Fire Marshal’s Office are jointly investigating the incident. Officials say the cause of the fire has not yet been determined.

In a statement, Union County Fire and Rescue expressed heartfelt condolences to the family affected by the tragedy.
