Two Lady Yellow Jackets Earn Smoky Mountain Conference Honors

Although the 2026 season presented its share of challenges for the Hayesville High School Lady Yellow Jackets softball team, two players have earned recognition from the Smoky Mountain Conference for their efforts on the field.

Micalynn McClure, a sophomore, was named to the Smoky Mountain Conference All-Conference Team, an honor awarded to players who have distinguished themselves through their performance, consistency, and contributions throughout the season.

Freshman Lucy Trout was selected as a Smoky Mountain Conference All-Conference Honorable Mention, recognizing her hard work and impact for the Lady Yellow Jackets during the 2026 campaign.

Individual honors are often a reflection of the commitment athletes bring to their teams every day. Both McClure and Trout demonstrated dedication, competitiveness, and a willingness to put in the work throughout the season, earning the respect of coaches, teammates, and opponents alike.

While the season's results may not have always fallen in Hayesville's favor, the recognition earned by McClure and Trout highlights the talent and determination within the Lady Yellow Jackets program.
