Union County EMA Leaders Recognized at Georgia Capitol

On February 26, Emergency Management Day at the Georgia Capitol highlighted the vital work of local and state emergency management professionals. Union County Emergency Management Agency (EMA) Director David Dyer and Deputy Director Brent Long joined staff from the Georgia Emergency Management and Homeland Security Agency (GEMA) and emergency management directors from across the state for the annual recognition event.
The Georgia General Assembly honored the contributions of emergency management officials, acknowledging their efforts to protect communities, coordinate disaster response, and enhance public safety throughout Georgia.
Director Dyer and Deputy Director Long represented Union County EMA, highlighting the county’s commitment to preparedness, rapid response, and community resilience in the face of emergencies.
The event underscored the importance of collaboration between state and local agencies in maintaining readiness for natural disasters, public health crises, and other emergency situations.
