UNION COUNTY, GA — Union County Fire and Rescue announced this week that it has received a supply of Narcan, a life-saving medication used to reverse opioid overdoses, thanks to the efforts of the Rotary Club of Union County Georgia.
The Rotary Club secured a grant to purchase the Narcan, which was then distributed to local first responders across the county. Union County Fire and Rescue said the medication will not only help reduce harm caused by opioid use in the community but also protect first responders in the event of accidental exposure while performing their duties.
“Thank you to the Rotary Club of Union County Georgia for your continued commitment as a community partner,” the department said in a statement.
The partnership highlights ongoing efforts to combat the opioid crisis locally and ensure that emergency personnel have the tools they need to respond safely and effectively.
