Union County Fire Department Officers Earn Prestigious Fire Officer III Certification

UNION COUNTY, GA — The Union County Fire Department is proud to announce that Captain Jeff Fortenberry and Lieutenant Jonathan Fortenberry have successfully completed the rigorous 80-hour Fire Department Administrator (Fire Officer III) course, earning certification through the Georgia Firefighter’s Standards and Training Council.
The Fire Department Administrator course equips chief fire officers with essential skills for managing administrative and division-level responsibilities within a fire department. The comprehensive curriculum covers critical areas such as human resources, training, division-level leadership, emergency operations, and community risk reduction. Upon completion, both officers were tested by the Georgia Firefighter’s Standards and Training Council to achieve Fire Officer III certification, a significant milestone in their professional development.
