The Union County Fire Department is celebrating a milestone for one of its own: Firefighter Jason Reese has successfully completed the Introduction to Color/Honor Guard course held in Cherokee, Georgia.

The intensive training, led by a certified instructor from the Georgia Public Safety Training Center (GPSTC), equips public safety personnel with the skills needed to perform ceremonial duties with precision and professionalism. Participants master proper flag handling, drill movements, posting and retiring the colors, and the rich traditions associated with honor guard services. The program places strong emphasis on discipline, respect, and representing both the department and the community with dignity.

“Being part of an honor guard requires commitment and attention to detail,” said Union County Fire Chief David Dyer. “Firefighter Reese’s dedication to completing this training reflects his pride in the profession and strengthens our department’s ability to honor both service and sacrifice.”

With this accomplishment, Firefighter Reese officially joins the department’s growing ceremonial team, which proudly represents Union County at community events, memorial services, and official presentations.

The Union County Fire Department extends its congratulations to Firefighter Reese for this achievement and for his ongoing commitment to professional development and excellence in service to the community.
