UNION COUNTY, GA — The Union County Fire Department announced that Lieutenant Travis Gibson and Sergeant Caleb Beise successfully completed a 16-hour Incident Safety Officer (ISO) course, enhancing their ability to ensure safety at emergency scenes. The two-day training program equips firefighters and officers with critical skills to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement safety measures during various incidents.


The course emphasizes the role of the Incident Safety Officer within the Incident Command System, focusing on firefighter health, wellness, and strategic decision-making under pressure. Participants are trained to recognize dangers and prioritize the safety of both personnel and the public. Union County Fire Chief David Dyer commended Gibson and Beise for their dedication, noting that their completion of the course reflects strong leadership and commitment to the department’s mission. The training underscores the department’s focus on improving safety protocols for emergency operations.
