Union County Recreation Department Launches Summer Water Aerobics Program

Blairsville, GA — The Union County Recreation Department is inviting residents to dive into a refreshing fitness routine with its new Water Aerobics classes, set to begin next month at Meek’s Park Pool.

The program offers two convenient session schedules designed for all fitness levels, emphasizing fun, low-impact exercise ideal for staying active during the warmer months.

Monday, Wednesday, and Friday classes will be led by instructor Deborah from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., running from the program start through September 7. A second set of classes, taught by Joann on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:15 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., will run from July 7 through Labor Day.

“Looking for a fun and low-impact way to stay fit and healthy? Look no further than water aerobics!” the department’s promotional materials state. The buoyancy of water provides gentle resistance while reducing stress on joints, making the classes suitable for a wide range of participants.

Registration for the program is now open at Meek’s Park Pool, with sessions officially kicking off on Monday, June 2, 2026.

For more information or to register, residents can contact the Union County Recreation Department at 706-439-6074 or 706-439-6101.
