The Union County Sheriff's Office received top honors at the recent QUAD Network Meeting, which brings together law enforcement leaders from 35 counties in North Georgia and more than 100 agencies.
The Sheriff's Office was selected as Agency of the Year by the Appalachian Trail Traffic Enforcement Network (ATTEN) for its ongoing commitment to keeping roadways safe along the Appalachian Trail corridor and throughout the region.

Lieutenant Leon James earned individual recognition for his focused efforts on speed enforcement, a leading factor in serious and fatal crashes in mountain areas.

Former Union County deputy Dylan Roberts, now a trooper with the Georgia State Patrol's Blue Ridge Post, was named Trooper of the Year. Roberts began his law enforcement career with the Union County Sheriff's Office before joining the State Patrol.
In a close-knit community where fatal accidents affect many residents, the Sheriff's Office remains dedicated to reducing injury and fatality crashes through strong enforcement and continued public education programs.
Congratulations to Lieutenant Leon James, Trooper Dylan Roberts, and the entire Union County Sheriff's Office for these distinguished regional awards.
