Yellow Jackets Dominant in Season-Opener

The Hayesville Yellow Jackets wasted no time announcing their presence in the 2025-26 season, steamrolling Blue Ridge Early College 69-20 in a non-conference road game Tuesday night.

From the opening tip, Hayesville imposed its will. The Yellow Jackets raced to a 24-7 lead after one quarter and poured in 27 more points in the second to take a commanding 51-14 advantage into halftime. A running clock in the second half underscored the lopsided affair, as Hayesville cruised to the 49-point victory.

The Yellow Jackets spread the scoring around in the blowout, with balanced production that overwhelmed the young Bobcats. Defensively, Hayesville suffocated Blue Ridge Early College, holding them to single digits in every quarter and just six total points after halftime.

Tuesday’s result marked a strong start for a Hayesville program looking to build on recent success and set the tone early in a challenging non-conference slate.

The Yellow Jackets (1-0) will hit the road again Friday, Dec. 5, when they travel to Highlands for an 8 p.m. tip-off against the Highlanders.
