YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. — Young Harris College, in collaboration with the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia and Sharp Memorial United Methodist Church, has opened a new on-campus food pantry called the Campus Cupboard to address food insecurity among students and the surrounding community.
The initiative will kick off with monthly food distributions open to all community members, starting Wednesday, Sept. 17, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. The distributions will take place at the campus entrance near Sharp Memorial UMC, with student volunteers available to guide attendees. Additional distribution dates for the fall semester are listed on fliers posted around campus.
The Campus Cupboard aims to provide nutritious food to those in need, building on the Food Bank of Northeast Georgia’s mobile pantry model, which delivers perishable and nonperishable items to communities in a drive-thru format. This partnership reflects Young Harris College’s commitment to social responsibility and community engagement, aligning with its mission to inspire change and support the North Georgia region.
