Young Harris Hosts Inaugural 5K Run & Walk to Aid Animal Rescue

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga.— The first annual Animal Rescue 5K Run & Walk, aimed at supporting financial aid for animal rescues, is scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 1, at Mayors Park and Sharp United Methodist Church.


Organizers say the event will raise funds for the Animal Rescue Financial Support program, which assists with care for pets, horses and other animals in need.


Runners and walkers can check in at 8:30 a.m. at the start line in Mayors Park, with the race kicking off at 9 a.m. The course will finish at Sharp United Methodist Church. Entry costs $35, and participants will receive long-sleeve shirts while supplies last.


No dogs or strollers will be permitted in the race.
