As the crisp mountain air of Union County turns festive with the first hints of snow, the community is gearing up for a heartwarming kickoff to the holiday season. Mark your calendars for December 6, when the Union County Community Center transforms into a winter wonderland for the annual Holly Jolly Christmas & Breakfast with Santa. This free, family-friendly extravaganza, hosted by the Blairsville Union County Chamber of Commerce and United Community, promises laughter, cheer, and enough magic to make even the Grinchiest souls smile.

From 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at 129 Union Co. Rec Rd., the event invites residents young and old to dive headfirst into the spirit of the season. If you are looking for a fun and festive way to get into the holiday spirit, this is it. It's a magical morning designed to spread holiday cheer and create unforgettable memories with friends and family.

At the heart of the celebration is the star attraction: Breakfast with Santa. Families can savor a complimentary festive spread – think fluffy pancakes, hot cocoa, and seasonal treats – while cozying up to the man in red.

Children (and kids at heart) will have the chance to whisper their Christmas wishes directly to Santa and snap professional photos to treasure for years. Don't forget to bring your holiday spirit. It's a special morning that captures the true joy of the season.

But the fun doesn't stop at the breakfast table. The lineup of activities is as merry as a sleigh bell chorus. Kick off with soul-stirring caroling, where local voices – from school choirs to impromptu family groups – will fill the air with timeless tunes like Jingle Bells and Silent Night. It's the perfect backdrop for sipping cider and soaking in the communal warmth that defines small-town holidays.

For those with a creative spark, the Arts and Crafts station offers a hands-on haven. Dive into holiday-themed projects, crafting personalized ornaments, greeting cards, and garlands from simple supplies. Let your creativity shine. The whole family can make keepsakes to hang on the tree or send to loved ones far away. These take-home treasures are sure to become cherished traditions.

Adventure awaits on the Mayor's Train, a pint-sized locomotive ride that's equal parts whimsy and wonder. All aboard for a chug-along journey through a festive setup, complete with twinkling lights and surprise stops that guarantee giggles from little passengers. It's a nod to Blairsville's playful spirit, blending local charm with Santa's sleigh-riding flair.

And for some high-energy ho-ho-ho, the Reindeer Games will have everyone dashing like Dasher and prancing like Prancer. These holiday-themed challenges – think relay races with jingle bells or ornament-toss games – are tailored for all ages, ensuring the festive spirit keeps bouncing long after breakfast plates are cleared.

This year's Holly Jolly Christmas is more than an event; it's a community hug wrapped in tinsel and joy. Whether you are a longtime Blairsville resident bundling up the grandkids or a newcomer eager to join the fold, organizers emphasize inclusivity: We can't wait to see you there for a Holly Jolly day filled with laughter, fun, and holiday magic.

Admission is free, though pre-registration is recommended via VisitBlairsvilleGA.com to help with planning. Space is limited, so don't delay – the North Pole is coming to Union County, and it's one ride you won't want to miss.
