Press Release
On 10/25/25 at 2:17 PM a resident of Chatuge Village Circle traveled to a community dock to check on the whereabouts of his part time neighbor, Lewis Preston Stallings 69 years of age from Tallahassee, Florida. The neighbor had seen Stallings’ golf cart parked at the dock since the previous day. During the previous night around 8:00 PM, the neighbor had seen a boat arrive to the dock and believed it to have been Stallings arriving back from Margarita Jacks Restaurant where he was a regular customer.
When the neighbor arrived at the dock to check on Stallings whereabouts, he found that Stallings’ boat was not properly secured. While securing the boat, the neighbor found Stallings face down floating in the water near the dock slip. Clay County Sgt Ethan Henderson, Investigator Steven Smith, and Officer JJ Wooten responded to the scene and began an investigation into Stallings’ death.
Stallings’ wallet and cell phone were found on his person. Preliminary results from the autopsy of Stallings revealed medical issues that may have contributed to his death. To date, no foul play is not suspected.   Â
