MURPHY, N.C. — The Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with Tri-County Community College, will host a free human trafficking awareness training for lodging and hospitality industry workers on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The training, held at Tri-County Community College’s West Building, Room 106A, aims to equip participants with the skills to recognize signs of human trafficking and take appropriate action. The session is part of a newly required initiative to combat human trafficking in the region, with hospitality workers seen as key allies in identifying and preventing such activities.

A Chick-fil-A lunch option will be available for an additional cost. Attendees who register and participate will also have a chance to be featured in the Cherokee County Chamber’s October newsletter.

Registration is required and can be completed at https://business.cherokeecountychamber.com/.../human.... For more information, contact Cherokee County Chamber Director Victoria Ivie at (828) 837-2242 or director@cherokeecountychamber.com.
