The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office was honored to welcome District Attorney Ashley Welch, the elected District Attorney for Prosecutorial District 43, for a visit to our office today.


During her time with us, District Attorney Welch received a comprehensive overview of our current operating procedures, including how our deputies and staff work daily to serve and protect the citizens of Cherokee County. As part of the visit, she was also given the opportunity to view our evidence processing area and observe the improvements that have been implemented over the past month to enhance efficiency, security, and accountability. We appreciated the opportunity to highlight the professionalism, dedication, and commitment that define our agency.


Sheriff Chris Wood expressed his appreciation for the visit, stating, “We were very pleased to host District Attorney Welch today and provide an inside look at how our office operates. Strong partnerships between law enforcement and the District Attorney’s Office are essential to ensuring justice is served effectively and efficiently. The positive working relationship we share will continue to make a meaningful difference for the people of Cherokee County.”
