Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office Hosts Free Kid’s Fishing Day on May 30

MARBLE, N.C. — The Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office is inviting local children to cast their lines at the annual Kid’s Fishing Day, set for Saturday, May 30, at the Sheriff’s Office Firing Range in Marble.

The family-friendly event is scheduled to run from 9 a.m. until the fish stop biting, with registration opening at 8:30 a.m. Organizers say the day will proceed rain or shine, though the start time could be delayed in the event of heavy rain or storms.

The event will take place at the Sheriff’s Office Firing Range located at 9554 US 19, Marble, NC 28905. Kids can expect a full day of fishing, with G&S Bait generously providing worms and donating several fishing poles to help ensure everyone has the gear they need.

In addition to fishing, local food trucks will be on site offering refreshments. Snowie will be selling snow cones, while Papa Kash will serve up BBQ, hot dogs, hamburgers, nachos, and more.

The event is hosted by the Office of the Sheriff with the goal of giving children in the community a fun, outdoor experience and a chance to learn about fishing in a safe and supportive environment.
