HIAWASSEE, GA – City crews in Hiawassee are actively working on Bell Street and adjacent city streets to clean out water drainage ditches, according to a public notice issued by Mayor Jay Chastain. This essential maintenance work is aimed at preventing flooding and ensuring the city’s infrastructure remains in optimal condition.


Motorists are advised to exercise extra caution when traveling through these areas. Mayor Chastain urged drivers to be mindful of workers and equipment on-site and to allow additional time for travel to accommodate potential delays.


“We appreciate your patience and cooperation in helping keep Hiawassee safe and moving smoothly,” Mayor Chastain said in the notice.
