Clay County Fire and Rescue Reports 18 Calls for Service Jan. 12–18

Clay County Fire and Rescue responded to a total of 18 calls for service during the week of January 12 through January 18, with the majority of those calls related to medical emergencies.

According to the department, 12 of the 18 calls were for medical emergencies, continuing a trend that places emergency medical responses as the largest portion of overall call volume.

Fire-related incidents during the week included two false fire alarms, one residential structure fire, and one commercial structure fire in which Clay County units assisted through mutual aid. Firefighters also responded to one smoke investigation.

In addition, one call was dispatched but later canceled while units were en route.

Clay County Fire and Rescue officials remind residents that while fires draw the most attention, medical emergencies make up the bulk of calls and highlight the importance of trained responders being ready at all times to serve the community.
