HAYESVILLE, N.C. — The Clay County Republican Party will hold its 2024 Fall Picnic at noon on Saturday, Sept. 20, at Pavilion No. 1 in Clay County Recreational Park, located at 492 Clay Recreation Park Rd., off Myers Chapel Road.
The event is open to all Republicans, unaffiliated voters, and “repentant” Democrats. Expected speakers include North Carolina Sen. Kevin Corbin, Rep. Karl Gillespie, Issac Burke of the NC Values Coalition, and potential local candidates.
The Clay County GOP will provide pork BBQ and beverages, with attendees encouraged to bring a covered dish or dessert to share. The picnic replaces the party’s regular monthly meeting, typically held on the third Thursday evening, meaning no meeting will take place on Sept. 18.
For more details, contact Clay GOP Chair June West at 706-781-8610. The party also noted that information about its upcoming Christmas Party will be announced soon.
