Clay County plans 20th Annual Ag Day and Tractor Parade for Sept. 26

HAYESVILLE, N.C. — The N.C. Cooperative Extension Clay County Center and the Clay County Tractor Club will host the 20th Annual Ag Day & Tractor Parade on Saturday, Sept. 26, in Hayesville Town Square.

The family-friendly event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with the tractor parade beginning at noon, according to Cooperative Extension. Organizers say the celebration of agriculture and rural heritage will include activities, food, entertainment and vendors.

A raffle drawing for a restored 1952 Ford 8N tractor is planned as a highlight. Parade participants should meet at the Hayesville High School parking lot. Registration is $15 per entry.

Proceeds support Clay County Tractor Club community programs, including scholarships for Hayesville High School graduating students, Extension said.

Agriculture-related vendors can still register: educational booths are free, and agriculture sales booths cost $25. Payment is due by Sept. 21 and can be delivered or mailed to the Clay County Extension Office at 25 Riverside Circle, Suite 2, Hayesville. Checks should be made payable to Clay County Tractor Club.
