HAYESVILLE, N.C. — Every student enrolled in Clay County Schools will receive free breakfast and lunch each school day during the upcoming school year under the federal Community Eligibility Provision, district officials announced.
The district is continuing its participation in the program, which means no applications, paperwork or fees are required for families. Standard meals are provided at no cost to all students.
School Nutrition staff encouraged students to take advantage of the free daily meals, describing them as nutritious breakfasts and well-balanced lunches.
A la carte snacks and beverages will remain available for purchase in school cafeterias. Families can add money to a student’s meal account online or have students pay cash at the register.
District officials said the program supports students’ education by providing wholesome, appealing meals in a safe and welcoming environment.
