Clay County Sheriff's Office Receives Lifesaving First Aid Kits

HAYESVILLE, N.C. — The Clay County Sheriff’s Office announced this week that it has received a generous donation of 10 Individual First Aid Kits (IFAKs) from the United States Deputy Sheriff’s Association.

The kits include critical lifesaving tools such as tourniquets, face shields, and wound packing materials designed to provide immediate care for gunshot wounds. The donation strengthens the sheriff’s office’s emergency preparedness, particularly in active shooter situations on school campuses.

“We are grateful for the support from the United States Deputy Sheriff’s Association,” the office said. “Thanks to our strong partnership with Clay County NC Emergency Services, we have already conducted—and will continue to conduct—training such as Stop the Bleed, CPR, and Tactical Combat Casualty Care.”

All School Resource Officers in Clay County have completed this specialized training, enhancing safety for students and staff across local schools.
