Collins Family Brings Bluegrass Talent to Hiawassee Town Square This Saturday

HIAWASSEE, Ga. — The popular Enchanted Music on the Square series returns this weekend with a special performance by the talented Collins Family on Saturday, May 30.

The free concert, which runs from 6:30 to 8:00 PM at the Hiawassee Town Square (19 S Main Street), promises an evening of family-friendly bluegrass and Americana music. Donations are appreciated to help support the long-running series, now in its 27th year.

The Collins Family is a highly musical group well-known in the region for performing at local venues, churches, and bluegrass competitions. The family band features:

  • Easton Collins, lead singer who can play virtually any stringed instrument.

  • Carson Collins, who sings lead and harmony while playing mandolin, guitar, and some piano.

  • Tennon Collins, handling vocals along with guitar and piano.

  • Finley Collins, who sings and plays fiddle.

  • Shawna Collins (mom), providing harmony vocals.

  • Ben Collins (dad), a versatile musician who plays guitar, mandolin, and bass.

Organizers describe the evening as “great family fun.” Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets or chairs for comfortable seating on the square. Well-behaved pets are also welcome, provided owners clean up after them.

For those looking to enjoy dinner before or during the show, the VFW Auxiliary Food Truck will be on site starting at 6:00 PM, serving grilled hot dogs and other favorites.

In the event of rain at concert time, the performance will be cancelled.
