HIAWASSEE, Ga. — The popular Enchanted Music on the Square concert series continues this weekend with a high-energy performance by the Whiskey Mountain Band on Saturday, June 6.
The free concert, which relies on donations from attendees to keep the music playing, is scheduled for 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. at the Hiawassee Town Square, located at 19 S. Main Street.
The Whiskey Mountain Band consists of seasoned professional musicians who first honed their sound in a cabin on the slopes of Whiskey Mountain, with sweeping views of Lake Chatuge and downtown Hiawassee. Known for their lively sets, the band delivers classic rock and dance favorites infused with touches of blues and country. They perform regularly across north Georgia and western North Carolina.
Families are encouraged to come out for an evening of great entertainment. Attendees should bring blankets or chairs for comfortable seating on the square. Well-behaved pets are welcome, provided owners clean up after them.
For those looking to enjoy dinner with the show, the VFW Auxiliary Food Truck will be on site starting at 6:00 p.m., serving grilled hot dogs and other tasty options.
This weekend’s concert marks another chapter in the series’ remarkable 27-year run, made possible through the generous support of local sponsors: Susan De Vries State Farm, McKinney Heating and Air, ServiceMaster Restore, WJUL 97.7 FM, Banister Cooper Funeral Home, Monte Alban Mexican Grill, Rotary Club of Lake Chatuge, and Big Bear Wine & Spirits.
In the event of rain, the concert will be cancelled. For the latest weather updates, check the Hiawassee Downtown Development Authority’s Facebook page.
