The summer tradition of free music on the Hiawassee Town Square continues this Saturday with The Collins Family taking the stage at 6:30 PM.

The Collins Family is a very musical family, playing at local venues and churches and competing in bluegrass competitions. Easton is the lead singer and can play any stringed instrument he picks up. Carson sings lead and harmony, plays the mandolin, guitar and a little on piano. Tennon sings and plays guitar and piano.  Finley sings and plays the fiddle. The mom, Shawna sings harmony and the dad, Ben can play any stringed instrument but mostly guitar, mandolin and bass. He is the son of Randall Collins who is part of the Collins Brothers and played a stint with Bill Monroe.

Every Saturday at 6:30 PM, a different musical act will entertain locals and visitors alike at the Hiawassee Town Square. Come early to get a hotdog from the VFW Auxiliary Food Truck. Free concert, donations appreciated. In the event of rain at concert time, concerts in May and June will be cancelled; concerts in July onward will be moved into the Towns County Civic Center. You can check the Hiawassee Downtown Development Authority Facebook page for weather updates.
