BRASSTOWN, N.C. — The John C. Campbell Folk School has announced a successful conclusion to its Spring Appeal, surpassing its fundraising target thanks to the generosity of 202 donors who contributed a total of $64,689.

In a message shared with supporters, the Folk School expressed deep gratitude for every gift, noting that the funds will directly support campus improvements, youth programs, and the preservation of living traditions that define the institution. “Your generosity supports campus improvements, youth programs and the living traditions that make the Folk School what it is and what it will continue to be for the next 100 years!” the school stated.

Located in the scenic mountains of western North Carolina, just across the state line from North Georgia, the John C. Campbell Folk School has long served as a cultural cornerstone for the region. For nearly a century, it has offered classes in traditional crafts, music, dance, and folk arts while fostering a strong sense of community and heritage.

The Spring Appeal’s success highlights the continued strong support from individuals who value the Folk School’s role in keeping mountain traditions alive. Officials say the additional funds beyond the original goal will allow the school to expand its impact even further into youth education and facility enhancements.
