Hayesville, N.C. — Herbert Street in downtown Hayesville will be closed intermittently Monday through Friday from now until mid-August to accommodate downtown improvement projects, according to town officials.
The closure affects the area at the corner of the new Inn. Motorists are advised to access the Square via May Street during the work.
Mayor Benita England said the intermittent closures are necessary for the ongoing enhancements to the downtown area.
“Sorry for any inconvenience, as we improve our Downtown area!” England stated in a public notice.
Officials recommend drivers plan alternate routes and exercise caution in the vicinity while construction is underway. The project is expected to be completed by mid-August.
