The Hiawassee Downtown Development Authority will host Light Up Hiawassee, a free community event, from 4 to 9:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at the Hiawassee Town Square.

The holiday-themed event will feature activities for all ages, including decorating the square, photos with Santa and an outdoor movie double feature.

Attendees can help decorate the town square for the holiday season and take photos with Santa. The outdoor movie lineup will include “The Polar Express” and “Elf.”

Additional activities will include a hot chocolate bar, cookie decorating and a community gratitude tree.

Organizers encourage attendees to wear holiday flannels, fleece or festive pajamas to celebrate the season.

Light Up Hiawassee is presented as a free community event by the Hiawassee Downtown Development Authority.
