Highlands Sweeps Hiwassee Dam in Conference Volleyball Match

Hiwassee Dam, N.C. — Highlands swept Hiwassee Dam 3-0 in a Little Smoky Mountain Conference volleyball match Tuesday night, avenging a previous loss to the Eagles.

The Highlanders won by set scores of 25-19, 25-18 and 25-21, marking the largest margin of victory for Highlands over Hiwassee Dam since Aug. 29, 2023.

Hiwassee Dam (5-16) battled in each set but couldn’t find the same success they had in their last meeting with Highlands. The Highlanders (6-12) have now won three of their last four matches, continuing their late-season surge.

Highlands will travel to face Blue Ridge Early College on Thursday at 6 p.m. Hiwassee Dam has finished up the regular season schedule and now waits on the Little Smoky Mountain Conference Tournament.
