MURPHY, N.C. — The Murphy Bulldogs delivered a commanding performance on Friday night, steamrolling the Rosman Tigers 71-0 in a Smoky Mountain Conference football matchup. The victory, which showcased a season-high scoring output for Murphy, marked their eighth consecutive win over Rosman, solidifying their dominance in the series.
The Bulldogs (4-2) wasted no time asserting control, overwhelming the Tigers (2-5) with a relentless offensive attack and a stifling defense that allowed no points. The lopsided result highlighted Murphy's ability to capitalize on opportunities, as they posted their highest point total of the season.
Rosman struggled to find any rhythm, dropping their third straight game and falling further in a challenging season. The Tigers now look to regroup as they prepare to face Andrews at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 10.
Murphy, riding the momentum of this blowout, will turn their attention to a key rivalry game against Robbinsville, also set for 7:30 p.m. next Friday. Murphy's players look to show they are the "top dogs" in the SMC.
